The Effects of Covid-19 on the Digital Literacy of the Elderly: Norms for Digital Inclusion

The current sanitary crisis due to COVID-19 has further evidenced the enormous digital exclusion of older adults. Furthermore, urged adults adopt new technologies facilitate their tasks, as well provide them with an effective means against loneliness and social isolation caused by confinement. In light this, Digital Literacy is necessary for all those excluded from era, who are characterized mainly little or no ability effectively use technologies. Nevertheless, detailed studies showing leap mixed (Blended Learning, BL) literacy in elderly have not been published. objective present research was analyze level Evaluation (DILE) two groups different levels (Group 1: G1, Group 2: G2) during three stages: BL (Aug–Dec 2019); Transition (Feb–Jun 2020); 2020). Comparisons were made before each educational (pre-pre-pre) after (post-post-post) consecutive periods semester (pre vs post) throughout (G1: Basic 1, B1; 2, B2; intermediate I1; G2: Intermediate 1 3, I1, I2, I3). Subsequently, considering had passed at least one levels, we worked a total sample 176 comparisons showed that, pandemic, G1’s pre increased between B1 B2 that differences continued increasing trend I1 completely treatment, same observed post measurements. On other hand, G2, DILE statistically significant pre-condition I2 (before pandemic) I3 (completely treatment); pre-conditions I3; results obtained treatments.
